Toy items containing sand can be potentially dangerous, a letter sent to kindergartens and schools last month warned. The signed parties are the Clinical Institute of Labour Medicine Ljubljana, the Association of Consumers of Slovenia and the Ministry of Education and Training of the Republic of Slovenia. “In some coloured, magical and kinetic sand and expandable “anti-stress” toys with sand inside, asbestos has been confirmed in several European countries and the products have been recalled.
