Hunting has a more than a century-long tradition in Slovenia and some rivers, such as the Soča, are among the most popular in Europe. The price of a daily fishing permit, depending on the location and type of fishing, is from 60 to 120 euros. The total cost of fishing for a day, including a guide, can quickly exceed 200 euros per person.
The most attractive fishing in Kamchatka, Patagonia, Alaska or Scotland quickly costs up to 1000 euros per day. The Soča has the best ratio between price and experience. Fishing is not uncommon on the upper course of the Soča, as the director of the Slovenian Fisheries Institute Matevž Podjed says.
