The 2022 parliamentary elections saw significant engagement with the early voting system. A substantial number of voters took advantage of this option, with 45,941 individuals – representing 2.7% of all registered voters – casting their ballots on the third day prior to the main election. Throughout the entire voting period, encompassing three days, a total of 130,151 voters participated in early voting.
This constituted 7.7% of the eligible electorate. The DVK has released figures detailing this participation. Comparing this to the 2018 elections, the trend of early voting continued.
During that year’s early voting phase, 53,158 voters, equating to 3.1% of eligible voters, utilized the system. These figures demonstrate a consistent pattern of voter preference for early voting, highlighting the accessibility and convenience offered by this method. The data clearly indicates a notable proportion of registered voters chose to cast their ballots ahead of the official election day.
The DVK’s report confirms the continued popularity of this approach to voting.
