The Maldives President’s spokesperson Mohamed Husain Sharif announced on Sunday that three Finnish divers, experts in deep and cave diving, had arrived in the Maldives, sent by the DAN Europe diving safety organization. They participated in a Maldives coast guard meeting, whose goal was to outline a new search strategy. The team included Sami Paakkarinen and Patrik Grönqvist – who became famous after the documentary Diving Into The Unknown (Potapljanje v neznano), which documented their role in a diving incident in the Plura cave in Norway in 2014 – and Jenni Westerlund.
