The Gerald Ford aircraft carrier at home after the longest deployment since the Vietnam War

The Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier arrived at the port of Norfolk in Virginia, where it was greeted by Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, according to reports from the U.S. military on the X network.

During its recent deployment, the carrier was involved in several international operations. In the Caribbean, U.S. forces utilized the vessel’s presence to conduct operations targeting drug smuggling vessels and intercepting sanctioned tankers.

Furthermore, the deployment included the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Following its activities in the Caribbean, the aircraft carrier was redeployed to the Middle East. There, it participated in combat operations related to the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

The vessel’s participation in these diverse missions highlights its role in various theaters of military operation.
