The Directorate of Infrastructure of the Republic of Slovenia has issued an update regarding accessibility improvements at the Ljubljana railway station. The agency announced that the temporary access road currently in use will not be adapted for individuals with mobility impairments. Consequently, a dedicated, special access point will be established on the northern side of Vilharjeva street to ensure appropriate access to the platforms for these passengers.
The comprehensive upgrade of the Ljubljana railway station is scheduled to remain in effect until July 12th. By this date, several new platforms—specifically tracks 5, 6, 7, and 8—will become operational. The integration of these new facilities is expected to restore full accessibility for people with mobility impairments, which will include the proper functioning of lifts.
To facilitate the most comfortable journey for passengers with mobility or sensory impairments, the public is advised to notify the railway services at least 24 hours prior to their scheduled departure. Upon notification, assistance will be provided for both boarding and exiting the train. This measure aims to ensure a seamless travel experience as the station undergoes its modernization process.
