Slovenia’s handball team has begun their qualification campaign with promising results. The Slovenian squad will commence their efforts against Belgium on April 8th in Hasselt, followed by a match on April 12th in Velenje. Slovenia currently resides in Group 3 alongside Germany, who hold the top position with eight points.
The Slovenian team has accumulated four points, while Macedonia and Belgium each have two. The upcoming European Championship, scheduled between December 3rd and 20th, will feature participation from five different nations. Qualification will see the two leading teams from each of the six qualifying groups, plus an additional four teams selected from the third-best performing groups.
Slovenia has achieved a strong start to their qualification process, building upon previous successes. They secured a decisive victory over Belgium in Kopru last autumn, winning 29:22, and also triumphed over Macedonia in Bitola with a score of 28:20. Consequently, the Slovenian team now controls their own destiny.
This first phase of qualification has positioned Slovenia favorably for the European Championship.
