The qualification round began with a concerning incident involving Kacper Tomasiak. Immediately at the start, he experienced a significant fall after landing at 192 meters. He subsequently lost control of his skis, resulting in a forceful impact with the snow.
Medical personnel attended to Tomasiak for approximately ten minutes before carefully transporting him on stretchers. Polish media and the governing association swiftly reassured the public, confirming that the 19-year-old skier was conscious and unharmed, with no serious injuries sustained. Following a brief pause, the qualification continued, but was ultimately halted after nine jumps.
The performance was disrupted by fluctuating wind conditions, creating an unstable environment for the competitors. Consequently, all participating skiers will proceed to the competition, which is slated to commence at 17:15. This includes all five Slovenian representatives: Domen Prevc, Anže Lanišek, Timi Zajc, Žak Mogel, and Rok Oblak.
The qualification event, marked by Tomasiak’s fall, has set the stage for an exciting and competitive ski race.
