Slovenian Businesses Face Significant Delivery and Cost Challenges
A recent survey conducted by the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce (GZS) reveals a concerning situation for medium-sized and large companies across key economic sectors. The survey, completed in April and encompassing 56 businesses, indicates widespread disruptions and rising costs. Approximately 50 percent of the surveyed companies reported delays in deliveries over the past 30 days.
Furthermore, 25 percent cited partial or complete unavailability of specific raw materials and semi-finished products. The challenges extend beyond delivery issues, with a pronounced impact on operational expenses. According to GZS chief economist and head of analysis, Bojan Ivanc, 86 percent of companies are experiencing significant pressure regarding energy prices, while 78 percent report elevated transport service costs.
Over 50 percent also noted increases in the price of petrochemical products. Mr. Ivanc cautioned that businesses operating in higher-cost segments are particularly vulnerable to these economic pressures.
The GZS analysis highlights a critical juncture for Slovenian companies navigating the current economic climate. The survey underscores the need for continued monitoring and potential policy responses to mitigate the impact of these widespread challenges.
