Already a crowd is gathering in front of Postojna: today’s day among the most heavily trafficked

Increased Traffic Expected Across Slovenia Due to Holiday Travel

Slovenian authorities are anticipating significant traffic disruptions across the country today and tomorrow due to heightened travel volumes associated with upcoming holidays. Motorway closures and potential traffic congestion are expected on several key routes. A closure is in effect on the Štajerska highway between Ljubljana and Snežniki.

Users may be prompted to consent to the insertion of social media content and third-party provider data to access real-time traffic information. High traffic is forecast across Slovenia, driven by holiday travel to Italy, and the commencement of holiday periods in Belgium and the Netherlands. Freight traffic is also anticipated to increase.

Roadwork is ongoing on select sections of highways. Traffic is expected to surge from Austria and Italy towards Croatia, as well as from Italy towards Hungary. Furthermore, increased traffic is predicted from Italy towards Hungary.

Authorities warn of a possibility of traffic jams, particularly in constricted areas such as the Ljubljana motorway ring, the Primorska highway, locations near ongoing road maintenance, and the vicinity of correctional facilities. The situation is being closely monitored, and drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
