Government Approves Ski Lift Concession in Bovec

The government has finalized a regulation following a proposal from the Municipality of Bovec to establish a concession for the construction of new ski lifts. The initiative aims to connect these lifts to existing ski infrastructure within the region. The move aligns with the Law on ski lift facilities for the transport of persons, which mandates a concession prior to securing a building permit for any ski lift project.

According to the government communication office, the concession will be granted for a duration of 40 years. Contracts will be overseen by the minister responsible for infrastructure, subject to government authorization. The concessionaire, selected through a public procurement process initiated by the Municipality of Bovec, will be able to proceed with obtaining building permits for the new ski lift facilities based on the secured concession.

This concession represents a key step in expanding ski access and infrastructure. The process underscores the regulatory framework surrounding new ski lift developments, ensuring adherence to established legal standards. The project document preparation is currently underway, signifying the commencement of the construction phase.
