Review Launched Following Unusual Markings on Slovenian Parliament Ballots
The Slovenian parliament’s STA group has requested a review of voting records from yesterday’s secret ballot election for Deputy Prime Minister positions within the National Assembly. Danijel Krivec (SDS) and Franc Križan (Demokrati) were elected to the roles. Following the vote, Speaker of the Assembly Zoran Stevanović reported the observation of markings on several ballots.
Investigators have identified a range of markings present on the ballots. One ballot contained a tic-tac-toe game, while another featured a six-pointed star. A subsequent examination of the voting records confirmed the presence of these markings, all of which appeared to indicate support for the elected candidates, Krivec and Križan.
The Speaker’s initial disclosure prompted the request for a comprehensive review of the ballots. Currently, investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the markings’ appearance. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are anticipated as it develops.
The review aims to determine the origin and intent behind the markings observed on the ballots. The Slovenian National Assembly is cooperating fully with the investigation.
