Decisive Slovenian hockey players start preparations for the World Championship

Slovenian Ice Hockey Team Preparations Begin in Tychy

The Slovenian ice hockey team’s initial preparations for upcoming international matches will commence in Tychy, Poland, following a decision by head coach Edo Terglav. Terglav will join the team there, fulfilling club commitments, rather than participating in early preparations in Bled. The team’s preparations will focus on a series of three friendly matches against Poland and Kazakhstan.

Assistant selector Andrej Tavželj provided an update at a recent press conference organized by the Slovenian Hockey Association. He noted a significant shift in the team’s composition compared to last year. “This year, we’ve seen several players who were key in the finals also securing opportunities to play in prominent teams,” Tavželj stated.

“It’s positive to observe their continued development and performance within strong leagues.”

Tavželj highlighted the noticeable focus and intensity amongst the players. “The excitement is palpable,” he explained. “Training sessions have been demanding, with all individuals demonstrating a high level of concentration and commitment to the upcoming challenges.”

These Slovenian hockey preparations are a key step towards the team’s international schedule, aiming to build momentum and assess player form ahead of competitive games.
