Cedevita Olimpija concluded the regular season of the ABA League in sixth place, securing a spot in the quarterfinals. Under the guidance of coach Zvezdan Mitrović, the team demonstrated flashes of the dominant form seen earlier in the season, characterized by a robust defense and a potent offensive attack across both the Adriatic League and the EuroCup. The upcoming quarterfinal match against the favored Crvena zvezda presents a significant challenge for the Ljubljana-based basketball team.
However, Mitrović believes enough time has been afforded for thorough preparation against the prestigious opponent. Following the final league match, Mitrović stated, “A good game, but it was not of any importance for us. Now we have a long break, almost a three-week break.” The team will utilize this period to rest key players and strategically prepare for the upcoming playoff rounds.
“We will rest the players a little and prepare for the finals in both competitions,” Mitrović commented on his strategy. Cedevita Olimpija will now advance to the quarterfinals of the ABA League, entering the next phase of the competition with a focused approach.
