Czech Team Claims Victory at Mahle 9th Eco Rally
New Gorica, Croatia hosted the Mahle 9th Eco Rally at the end of the weekend, a significant event within the FIA Eco Rally Cup and the national electric vehicle championship. Twenty-nine crews representing twelve countries participated over a two-day competition, navigating nearly 500 kilometers of challenging terrain. A substantial portion of the route, exceeding 300 kilometers, consisted of precision test courses, demanding accuracy and skill from the drivers.
The rally showcased a diverse field of competitors focused on sustainable motorsport. Michal Zdarsky and Jakub Nabelek, representing the Czech Republic, secured the overall victory for the FIA Eco Rally Cup. The team excelled in both accuracy and fuel consumption, claiming their second consecutive championship win.
Jose Manuel Perez Aicart and Javier Herrera Alejos from Spain finished second, while the San Marino-Polish duo, Guido Guerrini and Artur Prusak, took third place. The national championship portion of the event was also closely contested. The Mahle 9th Eco Rally highlighted the growing interest in eco-friendly rally racing and the advancements in electric vehicle technology, with competitors covering significant kilometers throughout the competition.
