Motorcyclist Dies in Traffic Accident Near Velenje
A traffic accident occurred at approximately 4:00 PM today near the Police Station in Lokovica, Velenje. A 42-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene following the incident. Emergency services responded and provided initial first aid to the motorist.
Despite these efforts, the individual succumbed to his injuries. The Celje Police District confirmed the fatality. “We advise all single-track motor vehicle drivers to be especially careful and adjust their speed to the conditions on the road,” stated police officials.
Authorities attribute the accident to several factors prevalent at the beginning of the motorcycling year. The asphalt surface remains cold, impacting tire grip, and residual road debris from winter plowing – including bumps and sand – are present.
