Before entering the government, internal tensions in Resnica and Demokrati?

Internal Divisions Emerge Within Serbia’s Truth Party Following Assembly Election

One week after Stevanović was elected President of the National Assembly with support from the right-wing center, tensions are surfacing within the Truth party. The initial period following the election has seen public disagreements arise, primarily concerning the party’s strategy moving forward. Stevanović addressed criticism directed at a prominent party member, Zoran, via a Facebook post.

He argued that Zoran’s supporters “not” underestimate the electorate and that supporting the future mandate, held by Sabina Senčar, is fundamentally equivalent to a commitment to policy content. Stevanović asserted that the Truth party represents a broader movement rooted in shared values, rather than solely dependent on an individual. Senčar has stated that the party must offer voters more than simply a position within the “government,” and has yet to respond directly to Stevanović’s post.

Concerns are also being voiced by some MPs regarding their potential participation in the Janša government. The situation highlights a potential challenge for the new administration as it seeks to consolidate its position before fully establishing its policy direction.
