Not well-equipped, it was in a bad state at 1900 meters, after which a helicopter flew

Two hikers successfully reached Bohinjska vrata on Monday after departing from Krma at an altitude of 1900 meters. Neither individual sustained injuries during the excursion. However, the hikers determined that their equipment was unsuitable for continuing along the planned route.

Mountain rescue teams responded swiftly, utilizing a helicopter to transport the hikers to the Slovenian police helicopter. The operation involved a mountain rescue pilot and a dedicated helicopter crew. Mountain rescue teams from GRS Mojstrana were also positioned on standby to provide support.

Following the initial extraction, the hikers were flown to Mojstrana by helicopter. The GRS Mojstrana team remained on location to ensure the hikers’ well-being. Authorities are issuing a caution to the public, emphasizing that the arrival of spring in the valley does not automatically indicate a change in weather conditions within the mountainous region.

Mountain rescue officials stated that winter weather patterns persist for a longer duration at higher elevations.
