Celje Police reported an incident of fuel theft that occurred at a petrol station in Celje on Friday afternoon. Authorities were alerted to the theft after a driver filled 470 liters of oil into his vehicle’s fuel tank. The individual then departed the station without making any payment.
Laško police officers subsequently apprehended the driver on the Strenski area. The vehicle was found to contain the stolen oil. Following the arrest, a criminal investigation has been launched into the theft.
The driver will face prosecution for the act of stealing fuel. Additionally, a criminal procedure will be initiated concerning the transport of dangerous goods due to the driver’s intoxication. A payment order has been issued as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
