Ljubljanians on a referendum on parking lots? Janković is at it

Ljubljana City Hall recently implemented changes to the traffic regulation ordinance, sparking concern from local residents and initiative leaders. Klemen Fajs, the founder of the Štepanjsko naselje initiative, issued a statement following the adoption of the changes, asserting that the issue extends beyond a single neighborhood and impacts the entire city. The amended ordinance introduces hourly parking fees of 70 cents during daylight hours and €2 for overnight parking in residential areas.

Fines for unauthorized parking are set at €80. Notably, the ordinance also includes a provision for a €200 fine for the introduction of a spider into a dwelling. Furthermore, the ordinance limits parking permit issuance to one permit per apartment.

Fajs criticized the administration’s approach, arguing that it insufficiently addresses the needs of residents with disabilities. He stated that the initiative, which proposed alternative solutions, has been rejected by the city administration. The changes are expected to be implemented city-wide.
