A recently obtained diplomatic statement, reportedly based on American and Israeli intelligence, indicates that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is currently incapacitated in a hospital. The Times reported reading the statement, which also details the leader’s current location for the first time. According to the letter, Khamenei is now situated in the holy city of Qom.
The document states his health is severely compromised, preventing him from actively participating in the country’s governance. Ayatollah Khamenei has not been publicly visible for approximately one month. Earlier this month, a video generated using artificial intelligence was released in his name.
The Supreme Leader sustained injuries during the initial stages of the ongoing conflict, coinciding with the reported assassination attempt on his father, Ali Khamenei, at the war’s outset. Since that time, Modžtaba Khamenei has not made a public appearance, despite earlier reports of sightings in March.
