The Žusterna Bath in a brand new look

The Municipality of Koper has concluded a substantial project aimed at significantly improving the local beach area, which has seen minimal structural changes over the past century. The comprehensive renovation focused on enhancing pedestrian pathways, improving public access to the sea, and elevating sections of the beach most vulnerable to high tides. This elevation measure has successfully mitigated issues previously caused by tidal surges.

Complementing the updated coastal infrastructure is the addition of nearly one thousand square meters of new green space. These enhancements provide visitors with a more functional and aesthetically pleasing environment, featuring new amenities such as resting benches, changing facilities, and showers. Safety standards have also been upgraded with the installation of modern rescue towers.

Furthermore, the municipality renovated the access points, including stairs and ladders, providing improved entry to the water. The development effort has been phased, with the eastern section of the beach undergoing renovations in both the preceding year and the current period. The most notable addition is the completely new beach area situated directly in front of the Olympic pool complex.

These improvements collectively aim to modernize the entire beach experience while maintaining its recreational appeal.
