While some smaller tributaries, particularly in the northern and southwestern regions, are maintaining usual low water conditions, the overall situation remains concerning.
The data indicates that more than 60% of monitored stations have recorded either low or critically low water levels. Several major waterways are among the most affected, including the Mura, Drava, Sava, and Ljubljanica rivers, which are experiencing significantly reduced volumes of water for this time of year. The lower stretch of the Kolpa River, along with select smaller rivers, is noted as one of the few areas where typical low levels are currently being sustained.
Arso predicts that this declining trend in river levels will continue gradually throughout the coming days. The continuous monitoring by the agency highlights the current hydrological stress across the region, necessitating attention to water resource management across the nation. The reports emphasize the need for vigilance as the flow rates across the country’s river systems continue to decrease.
