Foreign hikers were bitten by various snakes under Lake Bled

Twenty-one-year-old foreign hikers were bitten by snakes while resting in the grass. The incident occurred near the Bled hut, and the hikers proceeded with their journey despite the bites. However, the condition of one of the hikers subsequently worsened.

Kranj police reported that evidence suggested the presence of two different snakes in the immediate area where the foreign group was located. Emergency medical assistance was dispatched via helicopter from Brnik to the hut, where the hikers received initial care before being transferred to a medical facility. Police authorities stated that the incident would be formally documented, and the relevant mountaineering association would be notified to conduct an inspection of the trail.

The foreign hikers required immediate attention due to the multiple snake bites sustained. The response highlighted the coordination between local authorities and emergency services to manage the situation. The investigation aims not only to document the medical emergency but also to assess the safety of the hiking route for future visitors.
