Specifically, at the end of July, authorities decided to suspend the collection of the energy efficiency contribution and the environmental tax related to carbon dioxide emissions.
This suspension applied to motor gasoline, diesel fuel, and extra heavy heating oil for a period of two months. These measures were put in place with the stated objective of easing the impact of fluctuating fuel prices on the public. The updated pricing structure, therefore, represents a recalibration following a temporary governmental intervention.
