The Slovenian Financial Authority (Furs) issued the second package of income tax information calculations for last year at the end of May. This package comprised 581,289 notifications. Analysis of these figures showed that 18.3% of the recipients were due to make additional payments, while 60.6% were eligible for refunds.
Taxpayers who overpaid their income tax during the previous year received the owed amounts deposited into their bank accounts no later than the date of publication. Conversely, the deadline for any required tax payments also expires today. The average size of the required additional payment was calculated at 570 euros.
The Furs provided several options for settling any outstanding tax obligations. The simplest payment method involves structuring the payment into three installments, which does not require the submission of proof regarding the taxpayer’s income, savings, assets, or those of their family members. However, the Authority cautioned that if a taxpayer has previously filed an objection concerning their income tax information, the corresponding refund amounts will not be issued.
