Initially, a large fire-prone zone was declared covering the greater portion of Primorska on July 8th, a measure necessitated by the region’s prolonged exposure to drought. However, given the forecast for an incoming heat wave, the precautionary declaration has been expanded to encompass the entire nation for the current week. Regarding immediate conditions, the Slovenian Environmental Agency (Arso) predicts mostly clear weather for Wednesday.
Wind patterns are expected to feature easterly winds in the interior regions, while the Primorska area anticipates southwest winds. While morning temperatures are forecasted, the overall weather pattern underscores the persistent risk. These elevated fire risks mandate the continued vigilance of authorities and the implementation of protective protocols across all affected areas.
