US Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, stated in an interview with Fox News that the United States remains prepared for further attacks while also providing additional capabilities to the region. This period marks what Waltz described as the most significant escalation of the conflict, which has been ongoing for nearly five months following a ceasefire established in April. In response to these actions, Iran had carried out retaliatory strikes against US targets within the region. However, an Iranian army spokesman, Mohamed Akraminia, confirmed that these reciprocal actions have ceased.
Akraminia stated, “These attacks continued until two nights ago, but the last two nights, the Americans stopped their attacks.” He added that because Iran’s strategy is primarily one of retaliation, their goal was to halt the American strikes.
