The development of this new system was informed by operational experience gained during complex emergency interventions, notably a recent large-scale fire at a warehouse within the logistics center. That incident required the participation of numerous firefighting units, highlighting a critical need for enhanced coordination mechanisms to manage a greater number of deployed teams efficiently. To address this gap, a comprehensive system is being established.
This initiative will be supported by a donation of 50,000 euros from Spar, funding improvements aimed at boosting the overall operational readiness of the firefighters. The primary objectives of the new equipment are to facilitate the faster deployment of response teams, provide real-time monitoring of forces operating on the ground, and significantly enhance the safety protocols for both the firefighters and other personnel involved in the response. Tine Juvan, Commander of the Ljubljana Fire Brigade, emphasized that the new technological assets will substantially elevate the preparedness level for major incidents.
He noted that the Mobile system of reception stations for support in the management of larger interventions represents a significant improvement in the readiness of firefighters for major accidents. The implementation of this centralized support structure is expected to streamline command and control, ensuring that resources can be managed more effectively during high-stress emergencies.
