The 61st annual Laško Beer and Flowers Festival commenced last weekend, establishing Laško once again as a central hub for summer activities. The opening evening saw significant attendance, with the festival venues hosting performances from numerous musical acts, including Parni Valjak, Vlada Kreslin, Šank Rock, and Vilija Resnik. Throughout the event, visitors enjoyed performances across two dedicated stages, a tradition maintained from previous years.
This year’s festival kicked off by spotlighting the winners of the Laško Music Competition, an initiative designed to support emerging and less experienced musical artists. The competition process involved a rigorous selection by a jury, which narrowed down nearly 200 applicants to eight finalists. These selected musicians were given the platform to perform on the main stages of the large-scale Slovenian festival.
The festival grounds, celebrating the combination of local beer and the beauty of flowers, provided a vibrant backdrop for the musical talent. The opening performances highlighted the dedication to nurturing new talent within the established framework of the beer and flowers celebration. The event successfully merged established musical acts with a focus on supporting the next generation of artists, drawing large crowds throughout the initial days of the festival.
