Police authorities were notified around 18:45 today regarding a drowning incident that occurred on Lake Bohinj. The victim was identified as a 38-year-old man who was swimming when the incident took place. In response to the report, emergency services, including firefighters and divers from the PGD Bohinjska Bistrica, were immediately dispatched to the location.
Personnel successfully located the man in the lake, near the shoreline. A medical team, accompanied by a doctor, attended the scene and subsequently ordered an autopsy on the deceased, according to the Kranj Police Department (PU). Authorities confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the event are currently being treated as an incident.
Police investigators are continuing to collect detailed information concerning all aspects of the incident. All findings gathered during the investigation will be formally reported to the competent district state prosecutor. The investigation remains active as officials work to determine the full sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
