From the beginning of the year through the end of June, Croatia recorded total tourist arrivals exceeding 7.6 million. During this period, the nation registered 29.5 million total overnight stays, figures that are comparable to those recorded during the same timeframe in the previous year, according to reports from Net.hr. Regional data indicates that Istria County led in accommodation usage, reporting 8.7 million overnight stays.
This was followed by Split-Dalmatia County with 5.3 million, and Kvarner County contributed 4.7 million overnight stays. Analyzing the geographical distribution, the general coastal areas, including sea and beach destinations, accounted for 27.1 million overnight stays, maintaining a consistent level of visitor traffic compared to the prior year. In contrast, the continental regions, which include the city of Zagreb, recorded 2.4 million overnight stays, marking a slight increase of one percent compared to the first half of last year.
Key urban centers driving the accommodation numbers included Dubrovnik, Rovinj, Poreč, Zagreb, and Split. Overall, the data suggests a stable level of tourism activity across the primary destinations, with the total volume of overnight stays remaining robust despite year-over-year comparisons.
