Police authorities were notified on Sunday at 9:18 regarding an incident involving a 43-year-old motorist near the stretch of road connecting Vanganel to Montinjanu. Initial reports suggested the motorist had been struck by another vehicle. However, details provided by Loris Čendak, a representative from the Koper Police District, clarified the circumstances of the incident.
It was determined that the accident was not the result of a collision with another party, but rather that the motorist had strayed too close to the roadside edge. Consequently, he drove off the established road surface and impacted a ditch located alongside the roadway. Following the impact, he fell and remained incapacitated at the scene.
Emergency rescue personnel were immediately dispatched and successfully administered resuscitation efforts on site. Following stabilization, the injured individual was transported to the Isolde hospital for comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment. The police confirmed that their department is continuing to gather all relevant notifications and evidence pertaining to the event.
The police stated that appropriate action will be taken once the investigation is complete and all facts have been thoroughly collected.
