The Vipava expressway will undergo a partial closure for a period of 130 days to accommodate extensive reconstruction work. This reconstruction effort will cover approximately 12 kilometers of the roadway. According to project supervisor d.d.
Simon Premrl, the entire stretch of the expressway will be reconstructed during the closure period. Aleš Cantarutti, the director of the DARS management area, announced that the work is scheduled to commence this Saturday with the complete closure of the Rebernice section. Zvonko Zavasnik, the traffic and traffic safety manager at DARS, anticipates that new traffic regulations will be effective starting Monday morning at 6 a.m.
During the closure, traffic flow will be managed with specific lane designations. The right lane of the expressway heading toward Italy will remain open for all vehicles. Conversely, the left lane will be restricted to intervention and construction vehicles.
All lanes in the opposing direction of travel will be completely closed to all traffic. These closures are necessary for the comprehensive reconstruction of the Vipava expressway. Motorists should anticipate these changes and plan their journeys accordingly due to the significant duration of the work.
