On Thursday, June 18, police forces conducted a search of a residential property located in the Divača area. The operation was executed by officers from the Police Station Izola, in coordination with other police officers and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Police Department (PD) Koper. The search was conducted under the authority of a court order issued by the District Court in Koper.
The investigation focused on charges related to the unlawful production and trafficking of narcotics, illicit substances, and precursors used in the manufacturing of prohibited drugs, citing Article 186/1 of the Criminal Code. During the search, authorities discovered a significant cache of materials. The seizure included a large quantity of various prohibited drugs, specifically identified as cocaine, heroin, and marijuana.
In addition to the narcotics, the police also confiscated a substantial amount of cash and a weighing machine. The individual residing at the property, a 70-year-old man, was taken into custody by the officers. Following the seizure of the evidence, the man was subsequently released from custody at the scene.
The police department confirmed the findings, emphasizing the scale of the drugs and the financial assets recovered during the operation. The police action highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the illicit trade of narcotics in the region.
