Enrico Galliera, the chief marketing and commercial director at Ferrari, has resigned, as reported by Euronews. The responsibilities for the highly sensitive sector of the luxury automotive market will transition to external contractor Massimo Di Silvestro. Di Silvestro previously served as the head of the Italian branch of BMW.
He is set to assume management duties starting July 1st, a period that falls approximately one month after Ferrari unveiled its first all-electric model, the Luce. The debut of the new electric vehicle prompted varied reactions from the public. Critiques directed at the Luce were not primarily focused on its electric propulsion technology, but rather on its distinct design, which represented a notable departure from the aesthetic of Ferrari’s previous models.
This initial electric Ferrari was developed through a collaboration with the design studio LoveFrom. The transition of leadership suggests a strategic shift in the marketing and commercial direction for Ferrari. With Di Silvestro taking the reins, the company will manage the ongoing integration of electric vehicle technology while navigating public perception regarding design evolution.
The handover occurs at a pivotal time for Ferrari, shortly following the public introduction of its electrified lineup.
