Two accidents of paragliders, one broke his leg

Two Paraglider Incidents Reported in Slovenia

At approximately 7:19 pm, police responded to a reported accident involving a paraglider pilot at the Stol airfield in the Kobarid municipality. Initial reports indicated a 61-year-old German citizen had experienced an injury during a return landing following a maneuver shortly after take-off. The pilot sustained injuries to his right ankle.

Emergency services, including personnel from the GRS Brnik rescue team and a mountain police officer, were dispatched to the scene. Following stabilization, the injured pilot was transported by police helicopter to SB Jesenice for medical treatment. Separately, at 8:19 pm, police received notification of another incident at the Kobala airfield in Tolmin.

A 26-year-old Hungarian paraglider pilot had his parachute automatically closed due to insufficient upward wind. As a result, he landed on a grassy slope and sustained severe injuries. Preliminary investigations suggest the pilot suffered injuries to his right ankle during the landing.

Both incidents are currently under investigation, and further details are pending.
