Europol Issues Red Notices for Two Individuals: Melisa Smrekar and Mitja Petrič

Europol has issued red notices for Melisa Smrekar and Mitja Petrič, both wanted in connection with serious criminal offenses. The notices stem from investigations dating back to the fall of 2021. In the first case, Melisa Smrekar is suspected of abduction involving a minor, identified as Julia Pogačar.

According to Europol’s investigation, Smrekar is believed to have maliciously prevented the enforcement of a court order concerning Julia Pogačar, and has maintained the girl’s detention at an undisclosed location. This action is alleged to be preventing contact between Julia Pogačar and her other parent. The father of Julia Pogačar has offered a reward of 50,000 euros for information leading to her whereabouts.

The second red notice pertains to Mitja Petrič, who is wanted for offenses including money laundering and fraud. Europol has been pursuing Petrič since 2021. Both cases are being actively investigated by Europol, and the organization is appealing to the public for any information regarding the whereabouts of Melisa Smrekar and Mitja Petrič.
