Slovenian text: Isaac Del Toro FOT: Profimedia The Mexican Isaac Del Toro took the test on Saturday to climb the famous Grand Colombier, and today he was the best at the pass of Solaison. He succeeded his captain in the UAE Emirates-XRG team, Tadej Pogačar, who was the best a year ago. Del Toro won the stage with a minute’s advantage over Spaniard Juan Ayuso (Lidl-Trek), and in the overall standings he made up 46 seconds for Australian Luke Tuckwell (Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe), who started the 120-kilometre stage in the yellow jersey.
In the end, the Australian took second place with 54 seconds behind, and the third place was for Ayuso (+1:17). Del Toro won the race in Tirreno-Adriatico this year, and the victory in Dofine is the biggest success for the 22-year-old cyclist.
