Three mountaineers died in the Alps

The group of climbers left the mountain cabin at the beginning of the morning after spending the night there, heading for the top of the 4,061-meter-high mountain, but did not return by the evening, so an alarm was raised. According to the mountain rescue service, the climbers died after falling on the northern face of the mountain. The circumstances of the accident are not yet known.

According to official data, two of the dead were Italians, and the third victim’s nationality was not known at the time of the first reports. Gran Paradiso is located in the same-named national park in northwestern Italy. It is considered one of the easiest four-thousanders in the Alps.

Despite this, the ascent requires excellent physical fitness and appropriate technical knowledge.
