‘Olimpija is a sleeping giant, I see potential in the team’

Brečko Emphasizes Planning and Potential for Olimpija

Mišo Brečko, recently appointed head coach of Olimpija, expressed his commitment to the club following his initial training session on Monday. Speaking to journalists, Brečko stated he is “very motivated” and keenly aware of the responsibility associated with leading a team with Olimpija’s established history. Currently, the focus is on extensive planning and organizational efforts.

Brečko indicated his eagerness to begin working with the team on the field. The club has scheduled five friendly matches prior to the commencement of the competitive season. Acknowledging previous performance, Brečko noted that Olimpija “was not where the club aims to be” last year.

He highlighted a period of initial success followed by a decline in results towards the end of the season, stating a need for significant improvement. “Olimpija is a sleeping giant,” Brečko asserted, adding that while others perceive challenges and difficulties within the club, he identifies considerable opportunities and potential within the team’s capabilities. He intends to build a stronger, more consistent performance level for the Olimpija team.

The former Slovenian national team player is currently focused on implementing changes and strategies to elevate the club’s overall standing.
