Yesterday late in the afternoon or evening, a cold front reached Slovenia from the northwest. Along it, thunderstorms were formed, accompanied by strong rains and hurricane-force winds. The violent wind tore down trees and destroyed power lines, uncovered roofs, carried away even roof structures, and sometimes even walls did not withstand.
Meteor water flooded rooms, hail struck. Komenda PHOTO: URSZR “There is not one house that has not been damaged. Some houses are unfit for living, without a roof and walls,” the mayor of Komenda, Jurij Kern, described the situation the day after the storm.
“I have never seen such devastation, almost every roof is damaged, old or new. We had a tornado at home, but a few roofs were destroyed here, and here almost every roof has been damaged,” he confirmed after.
