Trump: Helicopter shot down Iran, US must respond immediately

“The pilots are fine, no one is injured,” Trump said to reporters as he left New York, where he watched the NBA finals basketball game on Monday evening. He added that they would publish a report on the incident today. He did not comment on the crash of the helicopter initially, but did so later.

“Our great army has just informed me that the Iranians downed one of our highly advanced Apache helicopters last night while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. Two pilots were involved in the accident, both of them are safe and unharmed. Nevertheless, the US must respond to this attack,” Trump said in a post on his social network.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi later warned all foreign forces to withdraw on social media.
