Siliko Vrhnika Claims SFL Arhides Title After Five-Match Final
Vrhnika’s Siliko team secured the SFL Arhides championship following a grueling five-match final against Dobovec. Coach Mile Simeunovič reflected on the victory following the decisive match. “It’s not easy after such a game.
It was a hard game to lead. I’m happy that we managed it,” he stated. The final was characterized by intense competition and extended play.
Siliko Vrhnika established a 2-0 lead at halftime, only for Dobovec to initially regain the advantage in the second period. Simeunovič attributed the team’s eventual success to the dedication of his players. “I don’t know what happened.
The first half was very good. We were building on the idea that in the second half we would play at a pace, because we had more of us. But it went the other way, we were more tired.”
Dobovec responded with a strong performance, forcing Siliko Vrhnika to endure several difficult moments.
Despite possessing a numerical advantage, the Vrhnika team ultimately prevailed. “Dobovec rose, we suffered. We had more players, we survived difficult moments, and at the end of the regular part we even had situations for a win,” Simeunovič added.
The victory marks the end of Simeunovič’s ninth season as coach of Siliko Vrhnika.
