Interior Minister Matoz to Review Findings of Airport Security Investigation
Ljubljan Airport is at the center of an ongoing investigation following allegations of improper conduct within its security operations. Franci Matoz, the recently appointed Interior Minister, will receive a report detailing the findings at the handover of duties, according to Slovenian Television (TVS). The investigation centers around the activities of a false policeman who, alongside a legitimate officer, performed police duties within the airport area for approximately 18 months.
Authorities apprehended the individuals last autumn after repeated instances of their involvement. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the individual posing as a police officer was present at official police proceedings and within the Brnik airport police station, as well as on the international airport area, between April 30, 2024 and September 23, 2025. The investigation determined that the individual did not gain access to actual police duties.
The full report will be presented to the public. The Ministry of the Interior stated that it was not found that the individual had access to police duties. —
