The total number of foreign voters who participated remains undetermined, as all overseas residents receive their ballot papers through postal delivery. The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has dispatched 113,652 ballot papers to foreign-resident voters and 1,707 voters temporarily located abroad who had previously registered to vote. Results from postal voting conducted abroad are anticipated after 12 noon.
Ballot papers sent by mail from abroad will be meticulously counted by the district electoral commissions. The NEC will handle the processing of these materials, ensuring they are correctly directed. If voters opted to send their ballots directly to the NEC, the materials will be categorized as electoral material for military personnel.
Alternatively, the NEC will transfer the ballots to the Ministry of Interior, reflecting the voter’s intended address. Furthermore, the NEC will incorporate these partial, unofficial results into the overall count. The process aims to accurately reflect the participation of all voters abroad, ensuring a complete and transparent election outcome.
These efforts focus on facilitating the voting process for all registered voters.
