Tanja Fajon, a former minister, is examining options regarding her potential return to employment following her departure from RTV Slovenia. According to a report by Delo, Fajon has inquired about re-employment procedures but has not yet formally initiated them. The situation mirrors that of Mojca Šetinc Pašek, a former MP and TV Slovenia journalist, who successfully returned to her role as a journalist.
Both individuals held dormant employment contracts while serving in parliamentary and ministerial capacities. Legal provisions outlined in the MPs’ Act are applicable to such cases. Specifically, Article 37 of the Act grants Members of Parliament, and similarly Ministers, the right to return to work within three months following the conclusion of their mandate.
Delo’s team clarified that for individuals with dormant employment contracts stemming from their roles, the Act’s provisions are being applied. This indicates a standard process for returning former officials to employment, aligning with established legal frameworks. The focus remains on Fajon’s exploration of these options and the application of relevant legislation.
