Antonelli: I feel great, the track suits me

Kimi Antonelli, the 19-year-old Italian driver, emphatically stated that his recent pole position, the youngest in history, wasn’t a stroke of luck. He has been steadily improving his performance since the Melbourne Grand Prix, a trend that continued in China. “I’ve been building a strong form, and I’ve secured the first starting position again,” Antonelli declared, surprising many who doubted his potential at the 40th edition of the VN Japan.

He expressed growing confidence in the car. “I trust the car more and more,” Antonelli continued, highlighting the team’s ongoing efforts. “We still have a lot of work to do, and we need to maximize the utilization of the power unit.” The team recognizes the need for continued development.

George Russell, Antonelli’s teammate, also acknowledged significant progress. “I adjusted the suspension settings slightly before qualifying,” he explained. “The car responded much worse, and strange vibrations returned in the rear.” Russell’s comments suggest a challenging qualifying session for the team, but also a focus on refining the vehicle’s performance.

Antonelli remains focused on achieving victory.
