Tina Bregant has been confirmed as one of the 15 candidates for ministers in the new, fourth government of Janez Janša. The largest party, SDS, has seven portfolios, the Democrats have three, and the trio around NSi will contribute five ministers. Four will come from NSi, while Focus will contribute one, which means that SLS – surprisingly – has remained without a ministerial position.
Tina Bregant, the party’s president, does not hide her disappointment. She writes: “Today my phone almost overheated. Yes, it is not every day that things are easy.
And today is a painful day for me and my party. In the Slovenian People’s Party, we take the alliance seriously. We signed the coalition agreement and we stand by it.
Today is a sacred day for us.”
