Turnaround in Zovka Murder Trial: Key Evidence to Be Excluded

Ljubljana – A significant development has occurred in the ongoing trial for the murder of Satko Zovka, a case that garnered national attention in Slovenia at the end of 2024. According to reports from Dnevnik, judge Gorazd Fabjančič has recently made a decision to exclude several key evidence pieces obtained by police during the investigation. The newspaper, citing reliable but unofficial sources, indicates that the evidence includes materials gathered through covert surveillance and subsequent house searches.

The trial, currently taking place in Ljubljana, involves the defendants Din Muzaferović, Jako Berganta, Osman Koštić, Vilija Sušnik, and Roland Cretu. The Ljubljana District Court has confirmed the issuance of the decision regarding the exclusion of the evidence to the Slovenian Press Agency (STA). However, the court has stated it cannot disclose the specifics of the ruling at this time.

As of today, the decision has not yet been formally served to all parties involved in the case. The legal process continues as the court assesses the remaining evidence and prepares for the main phase of the trial. The focus remains on establishing the facts surrounding Zovka’s death.
